The Geary County Sheriff's Office operates the detention center and holds county booking records. The public entrance is on Ninth Street. Sheriff Records accepts KORA requests in person, by fax, or by mail, not by email.

- For warrant procedure, consult Sheriff's Most Wanted, Geary County District Court, or an attorney. The sheriff does not disclose warrant status by phone.
- For current custody, a possible release date, or VINE alerts, use the official Geary inmate inquiry and Kansas VINE.
- For a sentenced Kansas adult felony offender, use the Kansas Department of Corrections KASPER search or KDOC GovQA.
- For filed charges and outcomes, use the Kansas District Court portal or Geary County District Court at 785-762-5221.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the Bureau of Prisons or ICE detainee locator. Neither locator is a Geary jail search.
